Spotlight on Israeli Culture - A Multicultural Array

While the history of Israeli music and dance was dominated by the European pioneers of the first half of the 20th Century (the source for HaTikvah, Hinei Mah Tov, and the Hora), the ingathering of Jews from Arabic-speaking countries and Africa in the second half of that century, and the growth and pride of the children of those immigrants as native-born Israelis, has led to a broad diversity of ethnic film and music in Israel.  During this session, we'll learn about and hear from some of the players in this emerging international scene.
